FAQ's

How many days per week should we play?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and that’s intentional.

For many families, 1–2 days per week is an excellent starting point. This structure works well for students who want steady progress, consistent instruction, and a balanced schedule. Weekday classes focus on building strong fundamentals, learning proper technique, and developing the skills necessary to play the game correctly.

For families interested in adding more application and competitive experience, increasing to 2–3 days per week — including Saturday programming — provides additional repetitions and structured match play opportunities.

Saturdays are designed to give students the chance to apply what they’ve learned during the week in a supervised environment. As players progress, they may participate in organized match play sessions that help them gain real game experience without the pressure of tournament competition.

Both approaches are effective. The most important factor is consistency and choosing a schedule that aligns with your child’s goals and your family’s availability. Whether a student is building fundamentals or beginning to explore competitive tennis, our structure is designed to support long-term development.

And as goals evolve, memberships can always be adjusted to reflect the next step in the journey.

How does membership work?

Our memberships are month-to-month and renew automatically each month. There are no setup fees, no long-term contracts, and no surprises.

You can cancel anytime with a simple 14-day notice before your next billing date.
Most families stay because they love the program, not because they have to!

Can we change our class day or time later?

Yes! Families can add or change class days anytime as long as there’s space available.
If you’d like to switch schedules or add an extra day to boost progress, we’ll help you find the right fit.

What if we miss a class?

No problem at all! We make it easy to stay on track.

If your child misses (or is scheduled to miss) a class, you can make it up within 7 days before or after the missed session.

We also offer one Saturday make-up practice each month, included in every membership.

It’s a great opportunity to catch up on anything missed due to rain, travel, or busy schedules.

What happens if it rains or class is canceled?

If a class is canceled due to rain or weather, you may choose one of the following makeup options:

- Join another available class that same week or

- Attend an additional class the following week

In addition, you can attend our 1 monthly Saturday makeup session

Weather updates are sent by email, and sometimes by text, as early as possible.

If you don’t receive an update from us, please assume class is still on. We assess court safety and playability approximately two hours before the scheduled class time.

In the event you don't receive an update, BUT the weather is really questionable, please give us a call to confirm before driving to class (we'd like to save you a trip if possible 😅)

FAQ image

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel anytime by giving us a 14-day notice before your next billing date.

For example, if your billing date is the 15th and you cancel on the 5th, your child can still attend classes through the 15th and your membership will end after that.

We never charge early termination fees... We just ask for that 14-day window so we can plan our coaches schedules responsibly.

Do you offer refunds?

We do not offer refunds for missed classes, sickness, holidays, scheduling conflicts, rainouts or memberships that have not been attended. Our programs operate on a monthly membership basis, and spots are reserved regardless of attendance.

For example, if a membership remains active for a month but a student does not attend any classes during that time, the membership fee is still non-refundable.

Makeup opportunities and built-in flexibility are included to support families while keeping classes consistent and sustainable for everyone.

Please keep in mind that memberships continue month to month unless canceled according to our cancellation guidelines.

If your plans change, it is the family’s responsibility to notify us in advance so we can process the cancellation appropriately.

If you ever have questions or need help navigating your options, we’re always happy to talk it through.

Can Saturdays be used as makeup classes?

No. Saturdays are not intended as weekly makeup sessions. We do offer one designated makeup Saturday each month for missed classes that can't be made up within our 7 day makeup window.

Can one-day members attend Saturdays?

To attend Saturdays regularly, students must upgrade to a two-day or 3-day membership or enroll in the Saturday-only option. There is a 'Drop In' option that students may also choose to join occasionally for an additional drop in fee.

Is drop-in a good long-term option?

Drop-ins are designed for occasional use. If a student attends Saturdays regularly, a membership will be more cost-effective and is a better option for consistent & routine training.

Can Parent's Watch the Classes?

Absolutely! We love having parents observe from the sidelines. For outdoor courts, we just ask that you stay outside the fence or designated play area so your child can stay focused. And while it might be tempting, please avoid coaching or calling out — it’s most helpful to let your child stay in the moment with the coach and their classmates.

Note: If you REALLY want to get involved & learn more about how we successfully develop young players, reach out to us about our volunteer program and we can discuss getting more involved!

What if my child needs to take a break?

If you need to pause lessons for travel, school breaks, or short-term conflicts, just let us know.

We can pause your membership for up to 1 month once per year at no cost. When you’re ready to return, your child simply picks up where they left off.

What does my membership include?

Every membership includes:

Weekly tennis classes with experienced, certified coaches

Access to our SMART Tennis® system (a proven, play-based method for learning)

Equipment provided during class

1 Monthly Saturday make-up session

Ongoing coach communication and progress tracking

What is the SMART Racket?

The SMART Racket is our patent pending training racket designed to meet players right where they are and grow with them as their skills develop. It slows the game down, giving students more time to think through different scenarios while building strong SMART Tennis fundamentals.

While it’s especially helpful for beginners, the SMART Racket is not just for beginners. It’s used as a training aid across multiple levels to help develop a wide range of skill sets within the SMART Tennis framework, including control, decision making, movement, and rallying.

Using the SMART Racket, players can learn how to keep score, play a modified version of tennis where they have more time to think through the different scenarios, and practice comfortably at home… whether that’s in the living room or on the driveway.

It’s ideal for early stage classes, at home practice, family rallies, and targeted training moments in higher level classes. By creating early success, the SMART Racket helps players stay motivated while also building a deeper understanding of what “playing tennis” is really about.

Please note: The SMART Racket is not intended for full swing use or traditional match play.

Why are the kids playing on smaller courts?

Our SMART Tennis Training framework scales the game so kids can rally, learn the rules, and experience real tennis from day one. Smaller spaces mean more touches, more control, better fundamentals and a much more enjoyable experience.

As skills grow, players move to larger spaces and face new challenges. We focus on finding an ideal balance between challenge and success, helping kids build confidence while also learning how to overcome obstacles.

What if my child doesn’t love tennis right away?

That’s perfectly normal! Learning tennis takes time (just like learning to ride a bike.) There can be a steep initial learning curve at the beginning. But we've found that students who stick with it almost ALWAYS have more fun once they see they are making progress.

So we've developeed a curriculum that helps kids feel small wins early so they build confidence fast while also developing the core athletic foundation needed to be able to play tennis well.

If after a few classes your child isn’t enjoying it, reach out to us. We’ll talk through what’s working, offer adjustments, or even help find a better fit. (We're in this together, so please let us know and we'll do what we can to help 😊).

Do you cancel classes on holidays or during breaks?

We run year-round with a few planned breaks throughout the year, like Winter Break and a short Summer Break. Most regular school holidays are not observed unless otherwise announced. These breaks are already factored into your membership, so there’s no need to reschedule or make up those days.
