Absolutely. We love having parents observe from the sidelines. For outdoor courts, we just ask that you stay outside the fence or designated play area so your child can stay focused. And while it might be tempting, please avoid coaching or calling out — it’s most helpful to let your child stay in the moment with the coach and their classmates.
Note: If you REALLY want to get involved & learn the game, reach out to us about our volunteer program.
If a class is canceled due to rain or weather, you may choose one of the following makeup options:
- Join another available class that same week or
- Attend an additional class the following week or
- Attend our monthly Saturday makeup session
Weather updates are sent by email, and sometimes by text, as early as possible.
If you don’t receive an update from us, please assume class is still on. We assess court safety and playability approximately two hours before the scheduled class time.
In the event you don't receive an update, BUT the weather is really questionable, please give us a call to confirm before driving to class (we'd like to save you a trip if possible 😅)

Email is our primary method of communication for weather updates, schedule changes, and important announcements. Please make sure your email address is current so you don’t miss updates.
If you haven’t received an email close to class time, that usually means class is still on.
If your child misses a class for any reason, they may attend a makeup class within 7 days before or 7 days after the missed session.
Makeup classes are based on availability and may take place on a different day, time, or location.
Missed classes are not refunded or credited. One Saturday makeup session per month is also included with membership.
Makeup opportunities do not roll over month to month and it is up to the individual to reschedule their makeup class within the 7 day window or 1 Bonus Saturday makeup.

Yes, when space allows. We understand schedules change. If you need to adjust your class day or time, just reach out and we’ll help you explore available options. Just send us an email at [email protected] with your child's full name and they day(s) and class you'd like to update.
You can cancel anytime by giving us a 14-day notice before your next billing date.
For example, if your billing date is the 15th and you cancel on the 5th, your child can still attend classes through the 15th and your membership will end after that.
We never charge early termination fees. We just ask for that 14-day window so we can plan coach schedules responsibly.
We do not offer refunds for missed classes, sickness, holidays, scheduling conflicts, rainouts or memberships that have not been attended. Our programs operate on a monthly membership basis, and spots are reserved regardless of attendance.
For example, if a membership remains active for a month but a student does not attend any classes during that time, the membership fee is still non-refundable.
Makeup opportunities and built-in flexibility are included to support families while keeping classes consistent and sustainable for everyone.
Please keep in mind that memberships continue month to month unless canceled according to our cancellation guidelines.
If your plans change, it is the family’s responsibility to notify us in advance so we can process the cancellation appropriately.
If you ever have questions or need help navigating your options, we’re always happy to talk it through.
We focus on long-term development and understanding the game, not just hitting balls or chasing short-term results.
Our SMART Tennis® framework is a control-based approach that teaches students how to think, move, and problem-solve on the court through age-appropriate games and live-ball play. This helps kids experience success early, stay engaged longer, and build skills that transfer both on and off the court.
At the same time, this system is rooted in the same world-class fundamentals and technical principles used by top college players and professionals. It provides students with a strong foundation and clear pathway to reach higher levels if they choose to pursue them.
That said, our philosophy always puts fun, confidence, and character first. We want kids to enjoy playing tennis, stay active, and learn how to approach challenges with curiosity and ambition.
Our goal is simple… to make high-quality tennis approachable, encouraging, and affordable, while still delivering world-class fundamentals.
Students are grouped using a combination of age, skill level, and readiness, rather than age alone.
Our curriculum is designed to scale challenges to each individual child, which allows students of different skill levels to participate in the same class while working toward goals that are appropriate for them. This approach creates an inclusive environment where every student can experience success at their own pace.
By balancing challenge with achievable wins, we help students stay motivated, enjoy the learning process, and take the time needed to build strong foundational skills. This leads to more confidence, better long-term progress, and a more positive experience for everyone involved.
As students progress, we provide clear pathways into higher-level classes, match play, and optional competitive opportunities.
Advancement is earned through demonstrated skill development, ensuring students move forward when they’re ready rather than rushed. This approach helps maintain confidence, supports steady growth, and prevents burnout while accommodating both recreational and competitive goals.
Our priority is always to place students in the most appropriate learning environment possible. We aim to strike the right balance between challenge and success so students stay motivated while continuing to develop meaningful, long-term skills.
By building strong fundamentals and allowing progress to unfold at the right pace, we create an environment that supports healthy growth and lasting enjoyment of the game.
Tennis is a powerful tool for developing confidence, focus, resilience, emotional control, and problem-solving skills.
Through guided play and structured challenges, students learn how to try difficult things, adapt to new situations, and build self-belief. These lessons extend far beyond the tennis court and support growth in school, relationships, and everyday life.
Tennis also encourages strategic thinking and self-reflection, combining movement, decision-making, and learning through both success and setbacks. With our curriculum and approach, students build strong fundamentals while having fun, making friends, and developing skills that serve them both on and off the courts.
Progress looks different for every child, especially in the early stages.
In our beginner program, progress is often seen first in a child’s confidence, their willingness to try challenging tasks, and their ability to control the ball and begin soft rallying. With consistent attendance, most families start to notice clear improvements in control over time.
If you haven’t already, we recommend downloading the goal tracking sheet and doing a simple self-evaluation at home. This can be a helpful way to observe growth and celebrate progress that may not always be obvious at first.
No. Practice at home is completely optional. Our classes are designed to do the heavy lifting and provide a clear path toward progress using our SMART Tennis® framework.
That said, if your child wants to play at home, short and playful practice sessions can help reinforce control and often accelerate progress.
Any at-home resources we provide are meant to support growth and help guide families along their journey… never to create pressure or extra responsibility.
Some families are simply looking for a fun, wholesome activity that isn’t hyper-competitive. Others may be interested in a more competitive path that includes match play or tournaments.
Our program supports both. We’re here to provide guidance and encouragement no matter which direction you choose.
We believe in earned progression. Our curriculum is designed to challenge students while keeping them in a live-ball learning environment, which means advancement is based on demonstrated skill, not just time spent in class.
For a student to move to the next level, they must be able to rally and apply specific skills consistently within their current level. In the Beginner Program, this means mastering the skills outlined in the Beginner Goal Tracker Sheet and demonstrating those skills either during class or through a short video submission.
Our goal is always to place each student in a class that is skill-appropriate, with the right balance of challenge and opportunity for success.
We’ve found that moving students into higher-level classes before they’re ready can be discouraging for the student and can slow down the overall class experience. That’s not fair to the student being moved up, or to the students who have already earned their placement.
For this reason, all advancements are based on demonstrated readiness. When a student shows they’ve mastered the skills for their level, we’re excited to help guide them into the next stage of their development.
The SMART Racket is our patent pending training racket designed to meet players right where they are and grow with them as their skills develop. It slows the game down, giving students more time to think through different scenarios while building strong SMART Tennis fundamentals.
While it’s especially helpful for beginners, the SMART Racket is not just for beginners. It’s used as a training aid across multiple levels to help develop a wide range of skill sets within the SMART Tennis framework, including control, decision making, movement, and rallying.
Using the SMART Racket, players can learn how to keep score, play a modified version of tennis right away, and practice comfortably at home… whether that’s in the living room or on the driveway.
It’s ideal for early stage classes, at home practice, family rallies, and targeted training moments in higher level classes. By creating early success, the SMART Racket helps players stay motivated while also building a deeper understanding of what “playing tennis” is really about.
Please note: The SMART Racket is not intended for full swing use or traditional match play.
Our SMART Tennis Training framework scales the game so kids can rally, learn the rules, and experience real tennis from day one. Smaller spaces mean more touches, more control, better fundamentals and a much more enjoyable experience.
As skills grow, players move to larger spaces and face new challenges. We focus on finding an ideal balance between challenge and success, helping kids build confidence while also learning how to overcome obstacles.
We run year-round with a few planned breaks throughout the year, like Winter Break and a short Summer Break. Most regular school holidays are not observed unless otherwise announced.
These breaks are already factored into your membership, so there’s no need to reschedule or make up those days.
Yes. Members may pause their membership once per year for up to 28 days due to travel or illness.
Holiday breaks are already factored into pricing and do not qualify for pauses.
If you cancel and later rejoin, membership rates and terms will reflect current offerings at that time.
At Tennis Time Academies, we believe children develop best when they feel safe, supported, and appropriately challenged. Our programs are built around these core principles:

• Encouragement, effort, and curiosity
• Earned advancement and skill-based placement
